, and other news outlets continue to report on a small new study led by Paresh Dandona, which found that treating newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetes patients with semaglutide may drastically reduce or even eliminate their need for injected insulin. “I was absolutely shocked that we could get rid of fast-acting insulin in three months and then basal insulin in seven out of 10 patients,” said Dandona, adding the results were “almost like science fiction.”
