The George J. Mitchell Scholarship Program, named to honor former US Senator George Mitchell's pivotal contribution to the Northern Ireland peace process, is designed to introduce and connect generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community and public service. Up to twelve Mitchell Scholars between the ages of 18 and 30 are chosen annually for one academic year of postgraduate study in any discipline offered by institutions of higher learning in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The Kobe College Corporation (KCC) Japan Education Exchange Graduate Fellowships Program was established in 1996 to support qualified PhD graduate students for research or study in Japan. The purpose of the fellowship is to support future American educators who will teach more effectively about Japan. One fellowship of $30,000 will be awarded. Applicants may affiliate with Kobe College (Kobe Jogakuin) for award year, if selected.

The James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is designed to provide a substantive work experience for students who have a serious career interest in the area of international affairs. Students who are selected will be hired to work as employees at the Carnegie Endowment in Washington, DC on a full time basis for a period of one year.

Mark Diamond Research Fund (MDRF) offers grants to graduate students for research expenses during the latter stages of their thesis or dissertation research. PhD students may apply for up to $5,000, and master's and MFA students for up to $3,000.

The New York State Science Policy Fellowship transitions PhDs in science, technology, and engineering into high-level public sector roles in New York State’s executive and legislative branches, with the goal of bringing subject matter expertise to New York State leaders and providing those with techno-scientific expertise hands-on experience in policymaking. It supports this goal by providing early career science, technology, and engineering scholars training on how policy is developed and implemented at the state level, and educational programming on the challenges related to the intersection of governance and techno-scientific expertise more broadly.

The Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute (JSI) Fellowship Program is a rigorous academic graduate-level preparation program for undergraduate juniors committed to public service careers. The program was started to address the lack of diversity across the spectrum of professional public service, including government, nonprofits, public policy institutions, and international organizations. The purpose of the JSI Fellowship is to prepare students to obtain a Master’s or a joint degree in public policy, public administration, international affairs, or a related field.

A scholarship for future leaders and changemakers, Samvid Scholars was established in 2021 by Samvid Ventures to invest in the graduate education of future leaders who are committed to effecting positive change in society.

The National Science Foundation Computer and Information Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowships (CSGrad4US) program aims to increase the number and diversity of domestic graduate students pursuing research and innovation careers in computer and information science and engineering fields. The program helps bachelor’s degree holders return to academia and pursue their research interests, enabling them to engage in innovative and high-impact projects without the burden of financial constraints.

The Graduate Fellowships for STEM Diversity (GFSD) is a partnership between government agencies and laboratories, industry, and higher education. GFSD's goal is to increase the number of American citizens with graduate degrees in the physical sciences and related engineering fields, emphasizing recruitment of a diverse applicant pool. The fellowship lasts for up to six years, provides a $20,000 annual stipend, covers tuition, and includes the possibility of a paid internship with a government agency, in addition to providing mentorship.
