We are committed to creating a culture where all people are safe, heard, valued, and celebrated, where all people can be themselves and feel a part of the UB community.
Identity-Based Affinity (IBA) Networks serve as a space for you to connect with alumni and current students based on similar cultural, racial/ethnic, personal identities, and lived experience.
Although these networks are identity-specific, they are also intersectional and you are encouraged to join any and all groups in which you identify with.
The Alumni of Color (AOC) Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs, and experiences of alumni from historically marginalized racial and ethnic communities.
The First-Generation Alumni Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs, and experiences of alumni whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not received a four-year bachelor’s degree at the time of the person’s first application for admission to the university, or the student’s first application for financial aid at UB.
The LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs, and experiences of alumni who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, and/or any other gender diverse identity.
Women-Focused Programming seeks to promote and develop programs and services that serve the interests, needs, and experiences of alumni who identify as women.
The Veteran Alumni Network seeks to promote and enhance the interests, needs, and experiences of alumni who have served/currently serve in the U.S. armed forces.
There are lots of ways to connect as a UB grad. You can check out our social media channels, or these networks run by members of the UB community.
If you would like to be included in communications for any of the IBA networks, please complete the form below or send us an email at IBAalumni@buffalo.edu.
If you are interested in starting an identity-based affinity network that isn’t listed above, please let us know.
